One of New Orleans premier music festivals is no longer. Voodoo Fest was canceled during the pandemic, and no explanation was given why it was a no go in 2023. For a city famous for it’s music scene, this is a real bummer. But for those looking for a more local scene with a twist, The Oak Street Po Boy Fest is a grand time.
You can’t keep the Big Easy down and there are a plethora of festivals to keep the locals and tourists entertained. One of our favorite smaller festivals happens in late November on Oak Street, just a few blocks from our office. The street is closed off and filled with vendor booths and music stages. The boy boys come in small portions so you can sample more of the delicious local sandwiches.
Po Boy Fest is sponsored by Tony Chachere’s, a portion of the proceeds from the festival are donated to Son of a Saint.
